The Black Stars arrived in North America on Sunday ahead of their pre-World Cup friendly against Mexico on May 22, 2026, as preparations intensify for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The global tournament will be jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States in June.

Training is expected to continue on Wednesday and Thursday before Ghana face the World Cup co-hosts on Friday.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his technical team are expected to use the friendly to evaluate players ahead of naming Ghana’s final squad for the tournament.

The game will also give emerging talents and fringe players the chance to impress and fight for spots in both the Black Stars and Black Meteors squads.

Ghana are treating the encounter against Mexico as a key test as they put the finishing touches on preparations for their World Cup campaign.
